Event: Miata Ride to Casey IL
Date: Saturday, August 9 (register by August 4)
9:15 Arrive and mingle
9:30 Driver’s meeting
9:45 Departure
Meet up in Arby’s parking lot (6007 Gateway Dr., Plainfield, IN 46166). This is near the intersection of I70 and Rt 267) (If you are hungry for breakfast beforehand, recommend Stack’s Pancake House which is next to Arby’s. Note that Arby’s does not open until 10:00.)
Casey is known as “Big Things, Small Town”. It’s the town of the world’s largest things!!
Among the many “things" are the World’s Largest:
- Golf Tee - Mailbox - Rocking Chair - Wind Chimes
- Mouse Trap - Bird Cage - and many more
The drive to Casey will be a mix of backroads and I70.
Will take backroads to the Speedway Gas Station for a bio break at intersection of I70 and Rt 59. (approximately 55 miles, 1.5 hours including break)
Then 50+ miles to Casey, IL via I70. Lunch at 12:15 at Richards Farm Restaurant (607 NE 13th St., Casey IL 62420).
- Richards Farm is located next to the world’s largest pitchfork!!
After lunch, a group photo with our cars in front of the pitchfork.
Then a mile drive into downtown Casey for strolling and exploring.
On your own to check out the downtown sites. Individual choices on timing and heading home. No group drive back to Indy is planned.
